Please continue to support independent underground Metal world wide, people! It’s each and every one of you that get these bands seen and heard. Love Metal and it will always be there for you. Otherwise what’s left, processed assembly line Rap, R’n’B, and (Ugggg… I just threw up in my mouth…) Country music? I pity the thought.
Hell, you don’t even have to have a band or even be able to sing anymore with all the voice and music correction software out there. Plus if you just happen to have a drum machine and an easy to use keyboard or samples you can quite frankly do away with any need to have a band at all. Just listen to most big budget movie sound tracks coming out today, especially ones set in the future or even Pop radio. Sounds like the same continuous base beat throughout with a smattering tickled keyboard notes. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with a handful of the techno/rave type music out there, especially if a lot of thought and originality is put into it. Many even have metal influences included like Ministry, Swamp Terrorists, Some of Marilyn Manson’s stuff, Prodigy, Chemical Bro’s etc.
I just hope that it isn’t a glance of what the future holds for live bands and music in general. Imagine someday not being able to see live bands anymore. Concerts may not even have live acts anymore. Just repetitive thumping pumped through giant speakers and flashing lights.
Hey there’s always “American Idol” to save the day, right? Its good to see ALL the winners of that show doing so well.. Not That I’d care to see any of them anyway. I think some of them will probably be doing some kind of “Christmas Special” together again this year at the Casino. RUBEN STUDDARD AND CLAY AIKEN WITH 8 OTHER AMERICA IDOL WINNERS APPEARING LIVE!!! GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!!! THEIR GOING TO GO FAST!!! At a hundred or more bucks a clip no less!!! Every Year they tell us the show has run its course and is finally getting canceled. Sure enough it comes back with new people. Ooooh Mariah Carry Is a new judge!!! How great is that? Guess her career is in the shit house right now. Just goes to show ya even people like “Steven Tyler” end up realizing what a bunch of crap their shoveling out for mass consumption. If that wasn’t enough there are clones being developed as we speak. There’s probably one on tonight like “The Voice” or something. The smart people usually watch the first few weeks just to laugh at the really horrible wannabe singers, who are lied to by their family and friends on how great they are. “Oh your so great honey, What a big star your going to be!!” Then they make complete asses out of themselves in front of the world, only to completely fall apart when their told the truth. What can I say… That’s great TV!!!
Do yourself a favor… Quit liking music just because its fashionable. Like it because it moves you or gets you through your life. Not because everybody else likes it. Quit judging music because on how the performers look or what category they fit into. I’ve known many people that wouldn’t listen to certain bands because they wore spandex and makeup or whatever. Then heard the music without even knowing who they were, only to end up liking it. Then they’d go back to not liking it, when they were told who the band was. Hell even Slayer, Ozzy, Iron Maiden and (Gasp) Metallica wore spandex/makeup in the 80’s. Pretty lame to judge stuff on such trivial merits if you ask me. Don’t like/hate music just because your friends, family, group/click do. Hell don’t even like it cause I do. Like it for yourself. Give everything a chance. Otherwise you never know what you missing out on. Personally I think that’s even lamer. Music is a true universal language that helps people get through the best and worst of times. Music is the best way to relate to some of the best of memories in our individual lives. Don’t sell yourselves short just because it isn’t popular at the moment or someone you hang out with doesn’t. There’s all kinds of music. Be good to yourself, listen and enjoy it. That’s what its there for.
